Den mest iøjnefaldende nominering til Denis Villeneuves sci-fi-sequel er netop til Villeneuve selv som instruktør. Desuden er der nomineringer for fotografering og effekter.
Guillermo del Toro fører det britiske award-felt an med hele 12 nomineringer til “[url=/film/shape-of-water-the]The Shape Of Water[/url]”, imens den store vinder ved weekendens Golden Globes, “[url=/film/three-billboards-outside-ebbing-missouri]Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri[/url]”, er nomineret i ni kategorier.
